2012, oil on canvas, 92 x 82 cm
The painted works in this exhibition illustrate a protagonist's journey. The works refer to myths and storytelling to portray the psychological struggle of the human condition. I presented these painted works as the start of a discussion and I encourage personal interpretation. The meaning is determined by the individual and thier own history of faith, storytelling, social norms, prejudice, scientific observation, and environmental connection. notes from the catalogue: My cave is underground you can't see it. I hold a stone in my hand for ballast or perhaps for defense. I watch from the entrance one way in, one way out. Inside I am transformed from flesh to unknown.
